Wise counsel is a game-changer in our faith journey. We were never meant to do life alone—and that includes our spiritual growth. Having trusted people who can speak truth, encouragement, and even correction into our lives helps us stay grounded and aligned with God’s purpose. Scripture reminds us that plans succeed with many advisors, and that’s not just about big decisions—it’s about everyday growth too. Whether it’s a mentor, a friend, or a professional Christian counselor, inviting others to walk with us brings clarity, accountability, and healing.

At Coast City Church we offer a few options for counseling support:

Pastoral Counseling

Pastoral counseling is a type of care and guidance offered by a pastor or spiritual leader that combines biblical truth with emotional support. It’s not the same as therapy from a licensed counselor, but it’s rooted in faith, prayer, and wisdom from Scripture. It’s a safe space to talk through personal challenges, relationship struggles, spiritual doubts, grief, or big life decisions—with someone who cares about your heart and your walk with Jesus.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist– We recommend local, licensed therapist for those seeking more help. These are paid services and are arranged directly through their office. Most major insurances are accepted including military coverage. Feel free to call and set up a brief consultation to ask questions and see if it is the right fit for you.

 Marriage Mentoring Program – SYMBIS
The SYMBIS Assessment and Program helps you and your spouse get on the same page regarding a wide variety of topics including personalities, finances, communication, and connection styles. Marriage 3.0 – Marriage Class

We exist to see marriages healed, healthy, and thriving through the power of Gods design.  Marriage 3.0 is a group class that meets for 2 sessions throughout the year. The class follows a video curriculum and incorporates small group discussion time facilitated by table group leaders. This class is great for growing or tuning up your marriage. Reach out to the office for our next class session information. 

Life Recovery Group 

The Twelve Steps of Life Recovery are a set of biblical principles in addiction treatment that outline a course of action for tackling problems. We all have struggles in life; struggles with addictions, food, depression, anxiety, and relationships to name a few. There are 12 Christian Foundations that Life Recovery is based on.

Life Recovery group gathers on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm in the Family Room location in the Children’s Building

Grief Share 

A support group to help you move through the grief process
A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.
